Monday, Aug. 22

7:50 a.m. – Caller from Grovers Avenue reports her vehicle was broken into overnight.

10:44 a.m. – A motor vehicle operator is issued a traffic citation for violations on South Main Street.

10:52 a,m. – A motor vehicle operator is issued a traffic citation for a headlight violation on Court Road.

1:28 p.m. – A caller reports a back pack on Yirrell Beach. Officer reports wet gear inside.

2:32 p.n. – A caller from Winthrop Street report vandalism to his house.

11:16 p.m. – A caller from Walden Street reports his wife was walking by the courts and observed a large group of youths in the area and may be causing damage to the fence. Officers responded and the area is clear.

Tuesday, Aug. 22

7:12 a.m. – Caller reports needles on the ground at the Pond Street Playground. Officer recovered them safely.

8:22 a.m. – Party called and reports his yacht was broken into and heavily damaged by vandals. Officer reports a very large crime scene involving at least $100,000 of vandalism. State Police crime scene investigators called to assist the processing. Another officer also responded and checked out the yacht. Second vessel discovered to be entered with little damage and possibly a third vessel entered without damage or theft.

11:05 a.m. – Caller reports ongoing problems with 15-16-year-old neighbors from Buchanan Street. BB shots, eggs thrown, trash, etc. An officer spoke with the kids, gave trespass warning, and will  be speaking with their parents regarding possible court action.

3:15 p.m. – Numerous calls around town, especially beach area, regarding possible earthquake. Fire dispatched to check area. News reports confirm quake on eastern seaboard measuring 5.8.

11:29 p.m. – Three females throwing traffic cones on the Belle Isle Bridge. Officer reports he replaced the cones and cannot locate the females who had been throwing the cones.

Wednesday, Aug. 24

1:08 a.m. – A motor vehicle operator is issued a traffic citation on Main Street at Hermon Street.

3:03 a.m. – A series of directed patrols begin and all areas are quiet.

10:15 p.m. – Person came in station to report friend wouldn’t give his car back. Officers assisted him in recovery of car. All rights are given.

Thursday, Aug. 25

12:51 a.m. – A motor vehicle operator is issued a traffic citation on Shirley Street.

2:33 a.m. – A series of directed patrols are conducted and all areas are quiet.

1 p.m. – Party from Pleasant Street at Buchanan Street reports a cat was just struck and is still alive. ACO Van Buskirk notified and will respond.

9:52 p.m. – Officer monitored traffic with radar for one hour on Shirley Street at Revere Street; spoke to residents and addressed their concerns over traffic.

11:21 p.m. – A directed patrol is initiated at the Walden Street basketball courts and a group of 15 is removed from the courts.

Friday, Aug. 26

8:39 a.m. – Party from Governors Drive reports a blue Mustang operating erratically on Winthrop Street. Officers are searching the area.

2:44 p.m. – Party from Summit Avenue reports a 1973 French made men’s green bike with brown handlebars and seat valued at approximately $200 was taken from his address sometime Thursday.

7:04 p.m. – Party from Cliff Avenue reports his driver’s side mirror was struck and ripped off by an unknown passing vehicle.

8:53 p.m. – Officer conducts radar enforcement on Shirley Street at Revere Street. Meet with neighbors again to keep them updated.

10:22 p.m. – A large group is dispersed by officers from the basketball courts on Walden Street.
