Team Ritchie Continues Momentum with Bake Sale in French Square

Last Saturday, members of “Team Ritchie” gathered in red T-shirts to sell baked goods for the upcoming Jimmy Fund walk. On a mission to raise funds that will benefit patients at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and in honor of her son Ritchie, Leighanne Strangie hosted a bake sale with the friends and family members who will be walking alongside her on Sunday, Sept. 22. From chocolate chip cookies to Halloween-themed cupcakes, the sale had a sweet treat for everyone.

“I am so grateful for all those who helped work the bake sale and for everyone who baked or donated,” said Leighanne. “The outcome greatly exceeded my expectations.”

Scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 22, funds raised from the Walk will support all forms of adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at the nation’s premier cancer center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Jimmy Fund Walk has raised more than $135 million in its 30-year history. Every dollar raised helps patients at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
