On August 29, 2005, Mother Nature challenged the mettle of the residents of New Orleans, LA. This storied American city was devastated by Hurricane Katrina and the ensuing damage it caused. Winthrop Resident, Ralph Tufo, traveled to New Orleans on several occasions to assist in the massive cleanup efforts. After hearing the real-life stories of the survivors, he composed a musical to bring to light the suffering and travails of many of the affected residents. The play, set in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, will be performed at the Winthrop School of Performing Arts on September 11th and 12th. Currently, Ralph is looking for actors to perform in the play. Anyone interested should contact Ralph at 617-671-5644 or email him at [email protected]. Auditions are beginning in June.
