It was great to see interim town clerk Denise Quist at the Town Council meeting as she takes over this very important post in the town. We feel that Councilor Nicholas DelVento has it right when he asked his colleagues to weigh in on exactly what the Council expects from the next permanent town clerk. DelVento wisely requested that all members of the Council to state what their interpretation of the town clerk’s position is.
DelVento no doubt wants to get the job description and expectations for the position on paper and move on from there so the constant turnover in the position does not continue.
This was an example of Councilor DelVento taking the “team” approach to a situation and we applaud him for his leadership and community-minded approach.
