Neighbor2Neighbor is a new Winthrop organization that helps people in time of an emergency or a crisis, and the group showed how important their work is with the outstanding pancake breakfast that was held Saturday to assist the Hobson family, who lost its home in a gas explosion.
Led by Mary Lou Osborne, the group raised funds for the family, who was truly appreciative for all the effort and love that was apparent at the breakfast,
This is another case of Winthrop people helping our own and we thank Neighbor2Neighbor for its outstanding work. This is what makes our town the special place it is.
WCAT channel changes
Coverage of meetings will switch channels
Town Manager James McKenna and WCAT Executive Director Mike Cabral announced at Tuesday night’s Council meeting that coverage of Town Council meetings will switch to Channel 22 beginning with the meeting on June 5.
Cabral and his station do an excellent job at covering the meetings live, so that residents who can’t make it to the Joe Harvey Room or the Cummings School can stay at home and watch Council President Peter Gill and the Council conduct its meetings.
Cabral never ceases to amaze us with his expertise in covering the meetings and having the multiple cameras on the right speaker and making sure the sound is just right. So tune in to Channel 22 next month and you’ll be able to continue to watch the town’s Council and School Committee live and in color.
