A tremendous crowd of supporters from the communities of Winthrop and Revere, along with several city officials and state legislators, attended a campaign fundraiser for Rep. Jeff Turco on June 12 at the home of Chucky Famolare, Rep. Turco’s friend and neighbor.
Former Speaker of the House Robert A. DeLeo former state representatives Al Saggese, Gus Serra, and RoseLee Vincent, Clerk Magistrate Joseph Faretra, current Council President Jim Letterie, former Council President Phil Boncore, and retired Police Chief Terence Delehanty were among the dignitaries supporting Turco, who is considered a rising star on Beacon Hill. Turco was recently promoted to Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Veteran and Federal Affairs.
State Rep. Jessica Giannino and State Sen. Lydia Edwards attended the event, with Giannino handling the introductory honors.
Known for his splendid oratorical skills, the 6-foot-6-inch Turco spoke of the tremendous daily support and encouragement he receives from his wife, Melissa, and their six children, Mary, Sonny, Joseph, Dominic, Grace, and Matteo.
Turco then humbly credited his fellow legislators, including Rep. Giannino and Sen. Lydia Edwards for joining him in helping people throughout the district.
