“This weekend is about bringing people together to have a good time for an incredibly important cause. The money we raise will help children and their families as they face an unthinkable ordeal,” said CPYC Commodore John Cataldo. “It’s an opportunity to truly make a difference.”

Every year, Make-A-Wish gives children facing medical challenges hope through a  once-in-a-lifetime experience. The need has never been greater as the organization faces a backlog of requests due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“There are so many children waiting for a special experience and it can only happen with the support of our community,” said George Deveney, Make-a-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island Chief Advancement Officer. “We appreciate all the efforts that are going into making this weekend a tremendous success.”

On Saturday and Sunday, there are races for youth sailing and one-design boats. A Pursuit race also takes place on Saturday. On Saturday night, there is a Celebration Dinner with an auction and raffles.
