WRTC to Host ‘An Hour With Senator Lydia Edwards’

The Winthrop Republican Town Committee will host a community meeting with Senator Lydia Edwards on Monday May 16, from 6:30pm-7:30pm. The event will be held at the Winthrop Senior Center on Harvard Street in Winthrop. This event grew from the Winthrop Republican Committees’s interest in expressing the importance issues impacting our community and Senator Edwards’ interest in understanding the priorities and issues of her Senate District.

The community is invited to attend this rare and free event. Attendance to this event is obtained by requesting admission through the WRTC Facebook account*. Attendance will be permitted based on venue capacity and balance of perspectives. This forum will foster intelligent and respectful exploration of issues facing our community. The event will proceed as follows:

1. Doors to Senior Center open 6:00pm; see below

2. Moderator opens the meeting at 6:30 pm sharp (2-3 minutes)*

3. Senator Edwards opens with brief remarks ( 5 minutes)

4. Written questions and comments from audience submitted through the Moderator; see below(45 minutes)**

5. Concluding remarks by Senator Edwards (2 minutes)

6. Concluding remarks by Moderator (2 minutes)

• Due to capacity constraints free admission to this May 16th event can only be obtained by registering on Facebook at “Winthrop Republican Town Committee” Facebook account. 

• Comments or questions for Senator Edwards must be submitted 36 hours in advance to the “Winthrop Republican Town Committee” Facebook account. This will permit as many comments and questions from the community as time permits.
