The Winthrop-Revere Rivalry is game number 87 that dates back to 1913. The Vikings hold a commanding 56-29 advantage. Toss the records out at Revere beach. The Vikings are (2-8) the Patriots (2-8).
A capacity crowd for the first game at the ‘new’ Miller field, Thursday morning – Thanksgiving Day at 10 a.m.

The Vikings have six seniors playing their final game in a Winthrop uniform. The Vikings have won two in a row and lost the third by one points.

Thanksgiving Memories
1964 – ‘The Game’ two undefeated (8-0) teams battling for the Class B championship in Revere before a crowd (estimated at 10,000 fans). The Vikings led by all-scholastic Steve ‘The Tank’ Adamson (played at Wyoming and the Sugar Bowl) and all scholastic quarterback Jim DelGaizo. Jimmy played in the NFL for 12 years, winning two Super Bowl rings.
Revere won a last second run by Billy Cintolo (Rutgers) (8-0).
1969 – Winthrop 24 – Revere 19 – Last game for coach Ed MacFarland Winthrop led by Jamie Tipping, Dave Tallent and Frank DeMarco. Patriots with Al Petrilli at quarterback.
1981 – Undefeated Vikings coached by Bobby DeFelice, win (49-13) en-route to ‘Super Bowl’ victory over Tewksbury (14-0) at Alumni Stadium – Boston College (1981-1982-1983) 33 game unbeaten streak.
1993 – Vikings win (49-22) led by two-time all-scholastic Anthony ‘Touchdown Tony’ scores 30 points Vikings win NEC title lose Super Bowl to Westford Academy.
2000 – Vikings 28 – Patriots 14 – Winthrop trails (14-0) at halftime. Bobby Kneeland and Luke Guarino score two touchdowns each to lead Vikings to victory in Revere.
2007 – Winthrop 27 – Revere 22 – Vikings trail Revere (22-21) with two minutes to play. Sophomore quarterback leads Vikings down field and tosses a 21-yard touchdown to Chris Beranger with 16 seconds to play. Beranger (two-time Boston Herald all-scholastic played at the University of New Hampshire.
2015 – Vikings win (15-12) Patriots nine-point favorites shooting for Revere best record since 1964, coach Driscoll had great game plan control the clock, Vikings had the ball 24 out of 44 minutes. Chris Zuffante, Matt Tarantino and Jon Gonzales lead Vikings to victory. Revere playing first game in new Harry Della Russo Stadium. Another ‘cold turkey’ day for Revere.
The Vikings have ‘six seniors’ playing their final game. Quarterback Jake Adamson, tackle Calvin Tufa (6’0-250) halfback, Tyler Chiudina halfback Jaidon Brown, tackle Christian Lyons, and guard AJ Massa and Sierra O’Connell.
On the Winthrop sidelines, Speaker of the House Bob DeLeo and Sen. Joe Boncore, on the Revere sidelines Mayor Brian Arrigo and Councillor Danny Rizzo.
