St. Mary’s High School girls hockey players Kira Iacopucci and
Vanessa VanBuskirk of Winthrop hold the Division 1 state championship
trophy following the team’s 2-1 victory over Arlington
Catholic Sunday at the Garden. A freshman, VanBuskirk was a
top-line defenseman for the Spartans while Iacopucci, an eighth
grader, was a valuable reserve player.
