Saint John’s Episcopal Church held The Blessing of the Animals on October 3 in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi, who referred to all animals as his brothers and sisters. Father Walter Connolly, pastor, blessed the Lord and all his creatures, thanking Him for giving us pets to cherish and provide us with joy and comfort. After each pet was blessed individually, Father Walter presented their human companions with a medallion to attach to their pets’ collars.
