Former Winthrop School Committee member and Winthrop PTA president

Laura F. Pelletier, a longtime resident of Winthrop, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026. She was born in East Boston on July 4, 1939, to the late Laura (Masucci) and Oscar Licciardi.

Laura worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Allied Fuel. She was actively involved in her community, serving on the Winthrop School Committee and as a past president of the Winthrop PTA.

She enjoyed bowling at the Dellia Room, drawing and coloring, watching classic television shows, and meeting friends for coffee. Laura will be remembered for her dedication to her community, her creativity, and the many friendships she formed throughout her life.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was the devoted wife of the late Wilfred J. Pelletier, Sr. and the loving mother of Wilfred J. Pelletier, Jr. of Lancaster, Gary Pelletier and his wife, Lisa of Winthrop and Donna Dowson and her husband, Steven of Winthrop; dear sister of the late Juliette Benfante, Richard Licciardi and Francesca Arpin; cherished grandmother of Jennifer Kenney and her husband, Carl, Julie and her fiance, Aaron, Jessica Fitzpatrick and her husband, Brendan, Joseph, Amanda and Catherine Swoger and her husband, Nicholas and great grandmother of Grace, Lillian, Carl, Aiden, Ronan and Cecilia.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop today, Thursday, August 27 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church (St. Michael’s Parish) 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with the interment in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
