Roger William Palmariello

US Postal Service Retiree

 Roger William Palmariello, 76, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Wednesday July 23, 2025, at his residence surrounded by loved ones. He was born on February 16, 1949, in Chelsea, the loving son of the late Armando and Mary (Moore) Palmariello. Roger had been a resident of Londonderry for the past 3 1/2 years, formerly living in Revere and Boxford, MA. 

Roger retired from USPS as a Letter Carrier in Chelsea and proudly served the Winthrop Community for many years.  He was a 1966 Graduate of Revere High School and a graduate of Curry College.  An avid golfer, Roger enjoyed walking daily and working in his yard and flower garden, He cherished time spent with family, friends and neighbors and was an active member of the Elks in Winthrop.

Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Carole (Abrams) Palmariello, his sister, Deborah Doherty and her husband, Robert; nieces and nephews: Ryan and Amy Doherty, Christopher and Katie Doherty, and Jennifer Marchant, his wife’s nieces and nephews: Nicole Chiarella, Charmaine and John Catania, David Abrams, Kerri and Frank Perullo, the late Corey Abrams and his wife, Kristin Abrams, John Burns and George Burns; his uncle, Atty. Andrew Palmer and brothers in law: Hal Abrams and his wife, Kim and Edward Abrams and his partner, Catherine Jackson; sister in law, the late Roberta and John Burns, as well as many friends and extended family. He was the loving son in law of the late Benjamin and Virginia Abram.

Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 9th at 11 a.m. in St. Mark’s the Evangelist Church, One South Road, Londonderry, NH with burial to follow at Pillsbury Cemetery, Hovey Rd, Londonderry, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Marks Church in Londonderry, Home & Health & Hospice Care in Merrimack, NH or to the Dana Farber Cancer Center in Londonderry. Mirella Marie Petruccelli

A remarkably gifted seamstress and designer

 Mirella Marie (Cellurale) Petruccelli, 74, of Winthrop, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, after a courageous six-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.

She was born on February 12, 1951 in Campobasso, Italy, surrounded by the beautiful Sannio and Matese Mountains. At the age of seven, she immigrated to the United States, where she proudly became a U.S. citizen.

Mirella was the beloved daughter of the late Michele Cellurale and Carmella (Mucciarone). She was the loving sister of the late Olindo Cellurale of Italy and Orlando Cellurale of the North End, and is survived by Nanda Blood and her husband, Ford of Medford and Felice Cellurale and his wife, Josephine of Belmont. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, James Fay, Jr.

Raised in the North End of Boston, Mirella was fluent in English and deeply rooted in the community. Her first job was at Modern Pastry, where she built lifelong friendships that she treasured for decades.

A remarkably gifted seamstress and designer, Mirella was known for her exquisite custom wedding gowns, prom dresses, christening outfits, dance costumes, and elegant draperies. Her work graced homes and events throughout the North Shore for over 30 years. She learned the craft from her father, a master tailor, and worked alongside him at Forecaster of Boston. There, she contributed to prestigious accounts including Christian Dior, London Fog, and Dellaria Salons.

Mirella was the devoted wife of the late Roger Petruccelli, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. She was a loving mother to Carla, David, and Paul, and a proud, cherished grandmother to David and Kayla. She was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews who will miss her deeply.

The funeral was conducted from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 6 followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church. Services concluded with the interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Dennis McLaughlin Sr.

United Airlines retiree, member of Winthrop Golf Club and Winthrop K of C

Dennis B McLaughlin Sr., 82, passed away peacefully July 31, 2025, with his daughters at his side.

Although his family is saddened by his death, they are comforted that he is reunited in heaven with his wife, Pauline Mayberry McLaughlin and son, Dennis B. McLaughlin II. He was also preceded by his parents, Walter A McLaughlin and Mary F Cunningham McLaughlin, his brothers, Walter A (Sonny) McLaughlin and his late wife, Patricia, James McLaughlin and his late wife, Estelle, John J McLaughlin survived by his wife, Suki of California; Special Uncle, Dennis Cunningham, and long-time Best Friend, Bobby Magee.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Kim McLaughlin Mangino and significant-other Scott Ciafardoni of Peabody, his daughter, Pauline “Chickie” McLaughlin Boyajian and her husband, Richard Boyajian of Winthrop. He was known as Grandpa to his six grandchildren: Hayley, Mikey, Krystle, Ryan, Shealagh and Olivia.

Dennis was born and raised in Winthrop in the same house in which he raised his family. He was a member of the Winthrop High School, Class of 1960. Dennis served in the Army National Reserves, was a member of the Winthrop Golf Course and the Knights of Columbus, Winthrop, and retired from United Airlines with 37 years of service as a ramp serviceman ABD& aircraft fueler.

Dennis was known as a lover of Notre Dame Football and as the “Luckiest Man in Winthrop.” The people of Winthrop knew Dennis for having a cookie for every dog, a story for every person, and the winning pick in every bet. He was a loving and dedicated Grandpa. Grandpa never missed a performance, game, or graduation; or the opportunity to take a photo to brag about later.

If he was not on his daily route, Dennis could often be found on his front porch. In the summer, he was hosting Dennis’ diner with a big TV and Budweiser. In the winter, he spent a day on the porch with his family putting up the biggest Hallmark Christmas Movie decorations he could dream up and then he was out there every day after that making adjustments. Dennis will be remembered as a loving Father, Husband, and Grandpa who was always there to support the ones he loved.

The funeral was conducted from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Tuesday, August 5 followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church. Services concluded with the interment in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery.
