Edward Francis (Ed) Wickham

Attorney who cherished his family who thrived on knowledge and sharing it with others

Edward Francis (Ed) Wickham of Winthrop, passed away peacefully on March 26 in Chelsea.

The son of the late Edward and Eleanor Wickham, Ed was born and raised in Duxbury.    He earned his Juris Doctor with honors from Suffolk University before moving to and settling in Winthrop.

He lived a life of love and pride with those he held closest to him.

Edward enjoyed the company of others, from his days in college, to his time spent in local town government and beyond.

Always willing to “hold court” wherever he was, Edward loved to talk about politics, current events, movies and history.

He thrived on knowledge and sharing it with others. Above all else, Edward cherished his family.

He found no greater joy in spending time with his wife, son, daughter-in-law and grandson. His biggest accomplishment, according to him, was that he got to be “Grampy.”

Forever ready with a joke (or two), Edward made sure everyone had a good laugh, and always made sure people knew how much he cared for them.

Edward is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife of over 50 years, Eileen Wickham, his son, Jared Wickham and his wife, Lena and their son, Eli.

He leaves behind many dear siblings, cousins, extended family and treasured friends.

Funeral services were held at Temple Tifereth Israel of Winthrop, 93 Veterans Rd., Winthrop, on Monday, March 31 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Temple Tifereth Israel Hebrew School of Winthrop. Arrangements entrusted to Torf Funeral Service.
