Engman Will Not Run for Precinct 4

Precinct 4 Councilor Heather Engman has announced she will not seek re-election to the Town Council.

So far no one has taken out nomination papers for Precinct 4.

Also, no one has taken out nomination papers for a two-year spot as a library trustee either.

Residents interested in either office are encouraged to take out nomination papers from the Town Clerk’s office. To be placed on the ballot town wide candidates need at least 150 signatures. Precinct candidates need at least 50 certified signatures.

Voters this year will select a council president for a two year term; a four-year councilor at large seat; a two-year councilor at large seat; representatives in Precinct 1 for a for a two year term; Precinct 2, 4, 6 for four year terms; three representatives on School Committee for four-year terms; three library trustees for four-year terms. Also candidates will be vying for two spots for four-year terms on Housing Authority.

The nomination papers should be returned to the Town Clerk’s office no later than Sept. 17 by 7 p.m.
