A new assistant town manager will begin working for the Town of Winthrop on Nov. 19. Town Manager Austin Faison has selected David Rodrigues, who has accepted the position with a $100,000 salary.
Rodrigues comes from Middlesex Sheriff’s office, where he served as director of the Civil Process Division. Before that, he was the assistant city solicitor for the City of Everett, where he worked with the community on the Encore Boston Harbor project.
“David brings a wealth of experience to the town manager’s office and he will be required to hit the ground running. Regardless of the Center Business District project, he will have a full plate and the opportunity to utilize his entire skillset,†Faison said.
A resident of Danvers, Rodrigues, graduated from Suffolk University with a degree in political science and received his juris doctor from there also. He was admitted into the Massachusetts Bar in November 2010. After that he worked as an associate attorney at D’Ambrosio Brown LLP for two years. Then he moved on to the City of Everett and then to the Middlesex Sheriff’s office.
Rodrigues is also a member of the Suffolk University College of Arts & Sciences Alumni board of directors. He was an associate member, Everett Zoning Board of Appeals in 2010.
