Lifelong Winthrop Resident Named as FKO Director of Operations

For Kids Only Afterschool (FKO) is proud to announce and welcome Christopher Crombie as our company Director of Operations. Chris Crombie will be responsible for supervising FKO’s district directors; providing oversight of its’ 19 locations in Chelsea, Everett, Peabody, Revere, Salem and Winthrop; supporting its workforce; working as a bridge between the executive office and programs; and representing FKO at statewide and partner meetings to grow and improve the agency’s depth and breadth.

Crombie joins the FKO team from the Watertown Boys & Girls Club. The Boys & Girls Club enriches the lives of young people and provides a safe haven in which they can learn and grow. It was there Crombie served as Program Director managing the daily operations of a program serving over 1,000 registered members. During his successful tenure, he guided and managed staff to deliver top-rated programs, coordinated with board members to create growth and sustainability, and developed outreach to form partnerships within the community.

Crombie also comes to FKO with over ten years of experience in other roles within the Boys & Girls Club organizations at locations in Chelsea and Watertown. Crombie also holds a BA in Social Sciences from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida.

The Massachusetts House of Representatives awarded Crombie the “Community Spirit Award” for his strong dedication and support of Watertown youth and families. He was nominated for the award by one of his mentored students. He also served as President of the Boys & Girls Club’s Northeast New England Area Program Council.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to give back to a great local organization with a reputation that speaks for itself,” said Crombie, a lifelong Winthrop resident. “Having worked with the youth population for my entire career, I am looking forward to bringing strong leadership and contribute to the continued success of For Kids Only Afterschool.”
