Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast

Head coach Sean Driscoll and the Winthrop High School football program will hold the annual Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast this Sunday (June 18) at the new Winthrop High School cafeteria. It’s the first time that the fundraising event will be held inside the new high school that opened last September.

Guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausages, bacon, and muffins.

This is always a great family event and it’s a pleasure each year to see Sean’s mother, Rita Driscoll, and Sean’s wife, Cindy, and their three children, at the event, along with the Fucillo family, who has done so much to put Winthrop High School football on the map, and the Deeb family, who always brings a large delegation.

We’re sure that we’ll also see members of the the Gillis family, of whom there are many Viking football alumni; Hall of Fame track coach Pat McGee and her son, Dr. Paul McGee; former high school principal Jiim Noiles and family; and so many others who make this a fun and festive occasion every year.

The breakfast, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., is bargain-priced at $7.00 per person. This has been the WHS football program’s biggest fundraiser of the year for more than 50 years. We’re sure that many members of our community will turn out for the occasion to show their support for coach Driscoll and his crew, who will be hard at work all morning to make the event a success.

We hope to see you there.
