Rosina Coviello

Rosina Coviello of East Boston and Winthrop passed away at the Advocate Healthcare of East Boston on June 7, 2025.
Born in Bonito, she was the beloved daughter of the late Maddalena (DiVito) and Fiorevante DiMinico. She had the rare opportunity to attend dress making school in a nearby town, walking daily to and from class along with classmates from her village. She became a seamstress. She immigrated to America with her family in 1960. Rosina worked for London Fog and many other garment companies in the North End and Boston. She returned to Bonito to marry the love of her life, Vito in 1962. They immigrated together and began their lives in East Boston, continuing her career in the garment industry.
She was the devoted wife of the late Vito Coviello and Loving Mother of Angela Theresa Coviello-Gear and her husband, Steven Gear of Winthrop; cherished grandmother of Steven Patrick Gear; dear sister of the late Angela Marietta Covelli and her husband, Vincenzo and the late Giulia Iacoviello and her husband, Alfredo of Revere.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Monday, June 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, June 17 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with the interment in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.

Patricia Sharkey
Her warm personality and dedication to her work endeared her to colleagues and friends alike
Patricia A. Sharkey, a beloved lifelong resident of Winthrop, passed away on June 6, 2025, in her hometown at the age of 78. Born on February 11, 1947 in Winthrop, Patricia led a fulfilling life that touched the hearts of many.
She attended Chandler Secretarial School and went on to attend Suffolk University for two years. Patricia dedicated herself to her career as an executive secretary for Camp, Dresser and McKee before retiring, leaving a lasting impact on all those she worked with. Her warm personality and dedication to her work endeared her to colleagues and friends alike.
In her free time, Patricia found joy in traveling, with a particular love for cruises and her time share in Aruba. She cherished the moments she spent exploring new places and meeting new people along the way.
A talented artisan, Patricia was known for her skill in knitting and crocheting. A kind and generous soul, she would often gift handmade blankets to her colleagues in the office to mark special occasions, spreading warmth and comfort wherever she went.
Cooking brought Patricia immense joy, but it was baking that truly captured her heart. Her delectable creations delighted those lucky enough to taste them, leaving a lasting impression with every bite. She also loved animals, especially her cats.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Ella (Phelan) and Frank Sharkey and the dear sister of James M. Sharkey and the late Frank Sharkey. She was the dear friend of Denise Sinnott and the loving companion of Frank “Buster” Ferrara.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home today, Thursday, June 12 from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 11:30 a.m. Services will conclude with the interment in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery.
