Police Blotter 12-13-2018

Monday, Dec. 3

Caller on Kennedy Road states that his neighbor is paralyzed, in a wheelchair and lives alone. He is concerned for his safety because he can hear him screaming in his apartment and he is not sure if he is okay. Neighbor states that normally he is not home at this time, which is causing him to be concerned he may have fell out of his chair. Home Health aide is at the residence now. Party was okay. The Visiting Nurse was on the scene. The involved party was concerned because she was running late.

Officers recovered an ID that was left at a restaurant on Crest Avenue. Worker at the restaurant will be holding on to the wallet in case the owner calls looking for it today. If they do not, the worker will turn it into headquarters.

Party on Myrtle Avenue states that she as walking her dog and three pitfalls escaped their yard and one of them bit her dog. Caller states this is not the first time this has happened. These same three pitfalls always are running lose on the street. A vet is on the way to caller’s home to assess the injuries. Officer reports the caller’s dog was slightly grazed. He advised the caller that the ACO will stop by when he get in this morning. Caller was informed that the ACO has the day off and he will contact her in the morning.

Party came to the station to report an ongoing harassment by her landlord.

Caller on Bowdoin Street states he was speaking to his friend last night and he seemed to be in an altered mental state. Caller reports his friend made Q5 statements. No weapons or means of injury stated. Caller has attempted to send messages, but has not made contact. Officers spoke to someone who stated that the involved party had left 20 minutes ago. Officers suspect he could be at the Honeydew so they will be heading that way to check the area. Party is now at Honeydew and officers will be checking the bus stops. Officers checked the bus stops along Main Street and there was nothing showing. Sierra 4 and 91 will be heading back to try and speak with the involved party’s ex-girlfriend to see if she has made contact with the party. No one was home. Officers did speak to a neighbor and the grandparents who both spoke to the party today and they both said the party involved was fine. The call we just received was from some one who spoke to the involved party last night. Called dispatch to advise the officers his father picked him up and will be driving him to work. He is fine.

Party on Main Street reports two packages left on doorstep for post office pickup last night. This morning they were gone. Caller spoke to the post office and the delivery company who both stated they did not pick up the packages. Caller is home and would like to speak to an officer. Officer states the packages were in fact taken sometime between 6 p.m. last night and 9 a.m. this morning. A report is to follow.

An 89-year-old female voluntarily transported to MGH from Lincoln Street.

92, 93, Sierra 4 are on scene trying to locate subject on a warrant on Sea Foam Avenue. No answer. All units enroute to a second location. Will advise control of location address on arrival. Units going off on Marshall Street in attempt to serve the warrant. Units spoke to the individual who lives at the home who states that the subject no longer resides at that address.

Party called from out of state to report suspicious/disturbing images observed on snap chat regarding an alleged resident of Winthrop.

Caller on Hermon Street states there is a vehicle outside just parked there with their radio on extremely loud. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the operator who lives in the area. Absolutely no radio on and the mother was only trying to put her child to sleep with a car ride. Units clear, peace restored.

 

Tuesday, Dec. 4

Caller on Argyle Street states people outside making a lot of noise. Says it sounds like they are doing possible work outside. Units report they checked the street and all is quiet. If caller calls back, try and get more information if possible.

Party at Governors Park states that while she was getting ready for work she noticed that the trunk of her car was open from her apartment window. Wants an officer to come out and file a report. She says there might be an ongoing issue with the people who reside above her and that this has happened in the past. Unit reports he spoke with the party and she just wanted it logged. Possibly the key fob opened it up and she is fine with a log.

Assisted fire with a funeral escort on Winthrop Street.

Past breaking and entering at EB Newton called in by D6. Nothing stolen. Child broke into the gym and used the facility. Parks and Rec would like a report only.

Student reported being harassed on social media and via text messages. Looked into the phone number and was unable to identify the culprit. SRO spoke with the parent and advised.

Party on Trident Avenue states that she found a crumpled up dollar bill outside her house. She too the dollar inside and when she opened it a white substance came out. Caller does not think the substance has affected her in any way. A 19-year-old female who found the substance and spoke to parents who were home. Unit advised she should get medically checked out which the female declined at the moment. She will call 911 if it needs to be addressed.

Party came to the station to report that her daughter was assaulted on her way home from school yesterday.

Caller from above stated she was not feeling well after the white substance from earlier. A 19-year-old female transported for precaution.

Party on Pauline Street said she saw a Lexus driving on the wrong side of the road. Caller states it was two female parties occupying the car. BOLO Given to all units.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 5

Caller on Beach Road states there is dog barking outside for over an hour. She is concerned for the well being of the dog. Unit reports the dog is outside and unit is attempting to make contact with the owner. No response at the door. Charlie 1 is attempting to contact the ACO. Unit then reported that party answered the door. Party had fallen asleep and he is taking the dog in now.

Party on Floyd Street states a neighbor’s two dogs are loose and hanging around the home outside of the yard. Called owner of the dogs and she is out of town, but will contact dog sitter. Officer was able to get both dogs in the house.

Report of three males rummaging through trash on Read Street. They all walked their separate ways. One towards the park, one towards Main Street and last one went down Gerald Street. This is public property once placed on the sidewalk. No crime committed. Calling back the caller to advise. When calling back the caller, it went to voice mail that has not been set up.

Report of one male shoplifter on Woodside Avenue. One male shoplifter in custody of management. 92 will handle juvenile male.

Report of blonde female party in silver Cadillac following the Amazon truck around and looking on people’s porches according to the calling party. Unknown direction of travel. Officer spoke with delivery driver and he is in a UHaul. He stated that he did not notice untying, but if he does, he will call us. Officer will continue to check the area. Also spoke to postal service and they will keep an eye out as well.

Officer was flagged down by kids at Ingleside Park. An argument between groups of sixth graders. Officer spoke with them.

Caller on Shirley Street states she found a cocker spaniel. As unit was taking the caller’s information down, the owner of the dog called her cell phone. Animal has been reunited with his owner.

Party on Nevada Street reports a dog has been stuck in a car in the area since he got home 15 minutes ago. 91 has located the owner and is standing by. Dog was removed from the vehicle and is with the owner.

Caller on Lowell Road states that his Golden Cocker Spaniel has been missing for about 45 minutes. She does have a collar on.  Her name is Lola. Caller was informed that we have not had any calls on the dog and he was informed that his information was taken down. If we got any calls on the dog or the dog was located, we would give hi ma call.

 

Thursday, Dec. 6

Caller on Golden Drive in upstairs apartment calling in a noise complaint stating loud music and banging have been going on since 2 a.m. Units clear, party has been advised to keep the TV down.

Party on Winthrop Street states a homeless man has been seen near the church and surrounding area. He is a Level 3 sex offender and party is concerned for children and neighbors. Spoke with officer at headquarters. Subject in question is not in violation and no response needed.

Caller on Sagamore Avenue states there is a dog barking and it is very loud and she is requesting a police officer. Caller wants to remain anonymous and was being less than cooperative on the phone. Officer stayed i front of the property for a few minutes. No barking dog at this time.

Passerby on Bellevue Avenue reports grey Chevy Cruz with Arkansas plates driving erratically. The driver is female with glasses and there is possibly a passenger in the car as well. BOLO put out to the units. Units are inn the area but no sign of vehicle in question. Units will continue to look for the vehicle. Unable to locate vehicle at this time.

Disabled motor vehicle at Highland and Revere Street. Party is waiting for AAA. Officer clear for now but if it becomes a traffic issue while waiting for AAA vehicle may have to be towed. Update: Officer went back to check on vehicle and it has been moved/towed.

 

Friday, Dec. 7

Caller from Governors Park states it is an ongoing issue with the neighbors in unit above her with some sort of cleaning chemicals. Unit spoke to the party. This is an ongoing issue and party had several complaints about her neighbor. Party was referred to another officer to assist her later.

Reporting party on Hale Avenue came into the station to report that his wife lost her keys at Dunkin Donuts on Revere Street. Several keys including car on a purple key ring. Please call if turned in.

Caller on Main Street stated a student is having some kind of reaction/stomach pain. Patient will be in the nurse’s office. Delta 6 requests EMS/fire to enter on Payson Street at the Middle School. Fire/EMS updated.

Walk-in from Sunset Road to report that she is being followed by a man in a pick-up truck. Stated the man was in front of her house and then in front of her work. She was advised to call if the person is around again. She also explained it could be a private investigator.

Report of a motor vehicle accident on Revere Street. 91 states second operator left the scene but vehicle was still on the scene. 93 reports 2nd driver has returned. 93 reports another vehicle accident occurred on Revere Street. Three cars. 92 reports paperwork exchanged.

Caller on Pleasant Street states she went to park on Bellevue and a man came out yelling at her not to park there and threatened her verbally. 92 states that the incident is resolved. This is an ongoing issue.

Three car motor vehicle accident on Revere Street. 93 states all vehicle sustained minor damage. Paperwork was exchanged.  Stated that the Chevy Trailblazer hit the Volkswagen and the Volkswagen hit the Chevy coupe.

Walk-in to report a harassment issue.

Caller on Main Street states a suspicious male is walking up to cars that are parked waiting to pick up their children from school. He is knocking on their windows. 91, Delta 6 responding. Updated information: Party is closer to Cross Street. Delta 6b states party is known to WPD and is investigating around the back. 91 is on Cross Street investigating. Area was clear.

Report of a drunk customer on Revere Street that will not leave. Caller states that the individual went next to door to Chinese restaurant. Party was sent on his way but is waiting for a food order and then will be getting on the bus. Units clear and peace was restored.

Party on Sewall Avenue states a German Shepard and a husky are running up and down the street. Have been on the street for at least an hour. Units clear, nothing showing.

Caller on Putnam Street states that across the street three parties are arguing very loudly with a baby. It seems to be verbal in nature. Non-bonafide, people just walking loudly.

Officer will respond with detective to do a well-being check on a resident on Shirley Street. The resident made a social media post that caused concern.

Caller states that a man is sitting in the island in the middle of the road as you take the turn to Veterans from Locust Street. Caller states that the and jumped out in front of the road with his hands up, looks like there may be 94C involved. Caller states that the man did this to a few cars. Police are requesting medical aid for male party. Medical aid enroute. Male party voluntarily being transported to the Whidden.

 

Saturday, Dec. 8

Report of hit and run on Beacon Street. Unit reports two vehicles were struck. Both are attached. Clear, report to follow.

Officers will attempt to serve warrant to subject on Cross Street. Southington PD called and informed us of the warrant. Party was not home. Unable to locate the subject, no paperwork served.

Report of commercial vehicle outside for 24 hours with no parking pass on George Street. Vehicle will be tagged, timed and officer will return in an hour. 93 issued a parking ticket.

Report of an erratic driver on Pleasant driving towards Winthrop Elks. BOLO given to units.

Caller on Orlando states that neighbor is yelling at him, no weapons. Stated he is having family gathering, and the neighbor started screaming “control your children,” and then went back downstairs. Units spoke to the calling party and will now speak to the resident in the other apartment that was involved in the altercation. Unit spoke to all apartments. Civil matter and residents were advised to speak to their landlord in regard to their issues. Peace was restored.

 

Sunday, Dec. 9

Caller at Governors Park stated a loud party on the second floor.  Units stated the party was coming out. Units advised the parties to keep it down for the night.

Caller at Governors Park claimed that someone changed her locks but her key works. She is requesting an officer at this has happened before. Units requesting evaluation for the female party. Fire and EMS enroute.  Units clear, female party voluntarily went to the hospital.

Party stated that there is a male party that looks under the influence of something, trying to hold himself up. Units checked the area of Donovan’s Beach and all the surrounding streets, no sign of that male party.

Party came to the station to report that the three iTunes gift card that she had bought and sent to a friend were somehow redeemed before they were activated. She was instructed by iTunes to report this to her local police station so that the company can reimburse her.

Report of a dog being hit but still alive at Summit and Revere Street. 93 searched the area and there was nothing showing.

Party on Golden drive states white male party will not leave the hallway. Possibly homeless. Party was sent out of the area. Some male that has been in the area for the past week or so.
