Beverly B. Puopolo of Almont Street, Winthrop passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital on April 1. She was 80 years old.
Born in England, she was the beloved daughter of the late Bertha (Betz) and Morris Brown. A longtime resident of Melrose, she has resided in Winthrop for the past seven years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an administrator for Blue Cross Blue Shield.
She was the loving mother of Anthony A. and Joseph Puopolo, both of Winthrop; the dear sister of Gordon Brown of East Hampton and the cherished grandmother of Valerie.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son-O’Maley Funeral Home, Winthrop today, Thursday, April 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 8 p.m.

Edward Pellicelli
Electrician
Edward T. Pellicelli of Hale Avenue, Winthrop passed away suddenly on April 3. He was 49 years old.
Born in Lynn, he was the beloved son of the late Dorothy (Trask) and John Pellicelli. A resident of Winthrop for the past 16 years, he was employed as an electrician for Carbone Electric.
He was the devoted husband of Cathlene A. (Moriarty) and the loving father of John M. and Amanda G. Pellicelli, both of Winthrop; dear brother of Lisa Curran of Middleton and Debra Pellicelli-Price of Seabrook, New Hampshire and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the Memorial Mass in the St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Saturday, April 9at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow the mass will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Middleton. Arrangements are under the direction of the Caggiano-O’Maley Funeral Home, Winthrop. Catherine Douglass
Devoted to family and her Catholic faith
Catherine M. (Flanagan) Douglass of Winthrop passed away on April 4 at the age of 97.
Catherine was born to Irish immigrant parents, Delia and Nicholas Flanagan in East Boston. She grew up with three siblings: the late Alice Fitzpatrick, the late Beatrice Flanagan and the late Joseph Flanagan. She led a long happy life with her late husband, John J. Douglass in Winthrop where they raised their four children. They enjoyed traveling, long scenic drives, sharing a hot dog and coffee at Kelly’s, and watching the sunrise from their front porch. Catherine was a devout Catholic and spent much of her life active in the Church community. Her strong faith helped her find peace and purpose during her final years.
Catherine will be remembered for her incredible stamina and strength, caring and mothering persona and her lifelong devotion and love for her family. She will be greatly missed.
She leaves behind her loving children: Bob and Donna Douglass of Burlington, Jack and Cheryl Douglass of Newfields, NH and Jayne and Paul Cleary of Winthrop. She was also the mother of the late Karen Douglass of Winthrop. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren: Kara and Colleen Douglass, Kathryne and Jacquelyn Cleary and Shanon and John Douglass. She was honorary grandmother to Jennifer and John Kane and their daughter, Alice and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours for family and friends in honor of Catherine’s life will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Monday, April 11, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow in St. John the Evangelist Church,Winthrop at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be in Winthrop Cemetery (Belle Isle Section).
