Well, the ferry service will soon be charting Winthrop waters after Town Manager James McKenna delivered the news at the Council meeting that Speaker of the House Robert A. DeLeo has secured a $50,000 subsidy for the ferry service. It’s another shining example of the Speaker’s attention to every aspect of town life and his ability to “bring home the bacon†for our town.
Ferry operators were hesitant to operate a ferry in Winthrop this year and McKenna rightfully wanted to set a foundation for the ferry so it could be successful. And the Speaker came through once again for Winthrop residents, giving our town manager the resources he needs to insure a professional and highly-efficient ferry operation from Winthrop to Boston.
Thank you, Speaker DeLeo, for all you have done for our town.
