We know that WCAT executive director Mike Cabral’s live broadcasts of the Town Council meetings typically draw a sizable audience, but this week there could be an even larger audience as Police Chief Terence Delehanty is scheduled to talk about his experience at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
As we reported in last week’s front page story in the Sun-Transcript, our police chief completed 11 weeks of education and training at the Academy, which is considered the premier law enforcement training center in the country, sort of the Harvard of such facilities.
It was a prestigious accomplishment for our chief to graduate from the Academy and acquire all the knowledge and public safety tips that he did during his 11 weeks at the Academy.
The safety of our residents is a top priority and Chief Delehanty’s training at the Academy is reassuring to all that he is always looking to expand his knowledge in an effort to make Winthrop the safest town it can be.
