A Favorite Winthrop Holiday Event Returns
Winthrop Improvement and Historical Association (WIHA) is pleased to announce the return of its “Holiday Open House” on this Saturday, December 9, in the Deane Winthrop Barn, 40 Shirley Street.
Michael Herbert, President of WIHA, stated, “We are beyond happy to offer our Open House again to the Winthrop community. We have not had a Holiday event since before the pandemic, and now we are back to celebrate the holiday season!”
The Open House will be held from 10 am – 2 pm and it will be packed with lots of fun for the whole family. There will be Baked Goods for stocking up for the holiday season; Crafters showcasing their creations for hard-to-find gifts; Greenery and seasonal plants; Raffles with prizes that include fine dining, gas fill-ups, personal luxuries, and groceries. Lunch will be available for a nominal fee, from 11 am-1 pm featuring cold weather classics: tomato soup, apple cider, grilled cheese sandwiches and pulled pork sliders. And, a well-stocked White Elephant table promises high-end goodies, Christmas decorations, glassware, children’s games, toys, and even more.
To top off the festivities, there will be a visit from 11 am-1 pm by the man himself – Santa Claus! Santa loves the WIHA Holiday Open House. So come to the Deane Winthrop Barn on December 9th, talk to Santa, meet up with your friends, meet new friends, and experience all the joys of the holidays!
Sen. Edwards to Host Coffee Hour in Winthrop Dec. 12
Sen. Lydia Edwards will host a coffee hour, open to the public, this Tuesday, December 12th from 1pm to 2 pm at Robert DeLeo Senior Center, 35 Harvard St Winthrop.
Feel free to swing by for a casual chat, discuss your ideas, and enjoy a cup of coffee alongside the Senator.
