The Winthrop Cultural Council announces that it will be holding a Restoration Party to celebrate the restoration of the clock tower at the E.B. Newton School building, 45 Pauline St., next Thursday, June 22, from 6-8 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30.
The party will feature live music by the Ari Mendes Experience, “Bossa and Jazz, a Love Affair.” Beer, wine, and refreshments will be served.
Rich Ferrino and Judy Buono will speak about the successful mission to restore the clock tower, which has been a Winthrop landmark for 115 years. State Senator Lydia Edwards, State Rep. Jeff Turco, Town Manager Anthony Marino, Town Council President Jim Letterie, and former House Speaker Bob DeLeo are among those who have been invited to attend the event.
