Belle Liberman loved people and she loved Winthrop. Belle was a vibrant, energetic woman who was a part of the fabric of our community for many years.
She enjoyed being involved in organizations such as the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce, Winthrop Rotary Club, and Temple Tifereth Abraham, not merely as a member, but as someone who was actively engaged with those groups. She was a successful businesswoman who welcomed people to her well-known store, Belle’s Little Shop, in the Center where customers truly became her friends. She was the perfect symbol for her shop, always dressed beautifully at town social events and other occasions.
Belle’s affection for Winthrop and its citizens was returned to her over the years. Everyone who came to know Belle Liberman had nothing but the highest respect and admiration for her. She lived life to the fullest and made people feel good about themselves. The packed funeral home on Tuesday was a tribute to the warmth in which she was held by so many of her friends in this town.
We will miss Belle Liberman, a wonderful woman who really made an impact on this town for decades.
