The Town of Winthrop has postponed its annual July 4 fireworks show and rescheduled it for Saturday, July 5 at 9:15 p.m.
Fire Chief Paul Flanagan, coordinator and fundraiser for the fireworks show, told the Town Council at its meeting Tuesday night that the weather forecast for July 4 was for rainy conditions.
Flanagan conferred with Town Manager James McKenna and other town officials Wednesday and a decision was made to hold the show Saturday night.
