Sweetheart’s Valentine Sale at St John’s Episcopal Church on Feb. 8
St John’s Episcopal Church will host their annual Sweetheart’s Valentine Sale on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 9am–1pm, at 222 Bowdoin Street in Winthrop. Visitors will find savory foods, sweets, crafts, jewelry, gift baskets, and themed cards for heartfelt giving on Valentine’s Day!
We will also offer our famous pre-order-only Lobster Lunches-To-Go! The takeout lobster lunch includes a generous lobster roll, triple-chocolate brownie & bag of chips, all for the low price of $20. Lobster Lunches-to-Go must be ordered by Wednesday, Feb. 5, by calling or texting the church @ 617-846-2363 and specifying quantity and your contact information.
Lodge of Elks 1078 is Celebrating Valentine’s Day with the Sweetheart Valentine’s Day Dance
Winthrop’s Lodge of Elks 1078 never refuses to help the community of Winthrop on any level. The offer dinners for our veterans, host awards nights for our local schools and sports programs. Scholarships for Winthrop graduates, and a safe a happy place to gather for its members and their families.
To be able to continue this, the lodge’s kitchen is in disrepair, needing upgrades and repairs. The kitchen as we all know is a vital area of operation, for all functions, both for the lodge and the rentals that keep the building thriving. To help absorb the cost of these needed repairs the Winthrop Lodge of Elks is hosting a Valentine’s Day Dance fundraiser, open to all members, family and friends.
The dance will be held on Saturday, February 1st (as not to interfere with those romantic dinners), at the lodge at 191 Washington Ave in Winthrop. Arrival time is 6:30 pm and will continue until 9:30pm. Cost per ticket is $30.00, and will include a Chinese Food buffet, entertainment by local singer Olivia Freni, and a $500.00 raffle, as well as other raffle prizes. All proceeds to benefit the kitchen fund for repairs.
This will be a great opportunity for anyone to enjoy the hospitality of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks, meet the officers, and make new friends from around the community.
