Massport Helps Feed most Vulnerable this Holiday Season

Throughout the upcoming holiday season, families and friends throughout the Boston area will give thanks for each other, and for the food we enjoy as part of our traditions.  This year, Massport is pleased to provide food donations to three programs in our local communities: Crossroads Family Center in East Boston; Winthrop Community Food Pantry; and South Boston Community Health Center Food Pantry. These three organizations serve hundreds of people each month, and often mean the difference between paying for heat and having enough food for the family to eat.

“This year, due to the COVID-19 crisis, food demand continues to rise,” said Alaina Coppola, Director of Community Relations at Massachusetts Port Authority. “During these unprecedented times, it is more important than ever that we look out for our neighbors. We hope that these donations are enjoyed by the many families that receive support from these organizations.” Massport employees donated over 40 boxes of food and raised over $300 in grocery store gift cards for this year’s food drive. These programs and many others provide critical assistance year-round to the most vulnerable members of our community
