Edwin C. Hargreaves of Winthrop passed away on Nov. 1. He was 90 years old.
Edwin was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the V.F.W.-Winthrop Post and the Freedoms Foundation. Prior to his retirement, Edwin worked for the John Hancock Life Insurance Company as a manager.
He was the beloved husband of Eleanor A. (DePanfilis) Hargreaves. Born in Somerville, he was the cherished son of the late Percy and Racheal (Cherry) Hargreaves; devoted father of James E. Hargreaves and his wife, Phyllis of Winthrop and the late John E. Hargreaves; dear brother of the late George and Frederick Hargreaves; brother-in-law to Anna Giordano and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Retired Department of Social Services administrator
Patricia J. (Dawson) of Winthrop passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 31. She was 80 years old.
Prior to her retirement in 2000, Patricia was a dedicated employee of the Department of Social Services where she worked as an administrator for many years. However, her greatest gift on earth was that of mother and nanna.
She was the loving wife of William F. Fennell and the adored mother of Kathleen Fennell and Patrick Fennell, both of Winthrop, Kerry Simoneau and her husband, Matthew Simoneau of Marlborough and William L. Fennell of Winthrop. She was the beloved Nanna of Jessica Rogowicz, Rachel Rogowicz, John Rogowicz, Jr, Katlyn Fennell, Mark Fennell, Sean Fennell and Jack Simoneau.
Born in East Boston, she was the cherished daughter of Leo and Helen Dawson and the sister of the late Leo Dawson, Eugene Dawson and Margaret Vermiglio. She is also survived by many adored nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation at the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop, at 10 a.m. Committal will be private.

Josephine M. Murray of Revere Street, Winthrop passed away at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Peabody on Nov. 2. She was 89 years old.
Born in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Elvira (Mazzocchi) and Ambrosio Vincenti. A resident of Winthrop for over 70 years, she was employed for many years as a waitress at the Hilton Hotel at Logan Airport. She was also a long time member of the Winthrop Emblem Club #15 at the Winthrop Lodge of Elks.
She was the devoted wife of the late John S. Murray and the loving mother of Patricia McPhail and her husband, John of Billerica, William Murray and his wife, Denise of Raymond, N.H. and the late John Murray, Jr.; dear sister of the late Gina Monaco and Florence Reynolds; cherished grandmother of Michael McPhail and his wife, Patty Lynch of Beverly, Lisa McPhail of Wilmington, Sean Murray of Raymond, N.H., Danielle Jamieson and her husband Daniel of Billerica, Brian McPhail and his wife Kristen of Pepperell and Craig Murray of Sandown, New Hampshire. Loving Nonny of Nathan and Leah McPhail.
Her funeral was conducted from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church. Rev. Charles Bourke celebrated the mass and offered prayers at the interment in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery. Member of the Winthrop Air Pollution, Noise, and Airport Hazards Committee
Anthony M. Majahad of Winthrop passed away on November 7. He was 69 years old.
Prior to his retirement, Anthony worked as a chemist for Harvard University. He was a member of the Winthrop Air Pollution, Noise, and Airport Hazards Committee. He loved poetry and was a member of various poetry groups.
The beloved husband of Dorry P. (Scantlebury) Majahad, he was the dear brother of Joseph Majahad of Salem, Peter Majahad of Bradford, Simon Majahad of Plum Island and the late Leo Majahad; adored uncle of Daniel, Peter and Colin Scantlebury and Simon, Jacob, Sam, Mercy and Danielle Majahad; brother-in-law of Andrew and Charlie Scantlebury, Kathy Scantlebury and the late Larry Scantlebury.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Friday, November 10 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Please go directly to church. Interment will follow in Winthrop Cemetery (Belle Isle Section.)
