Longtime Montilio’s Bakery Salesperson
Mary DiFinizio of Almont Street, Winthrop passed away suddenly at home on March 1. She was 96 years old.
Born in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Benigna (Piscopo) and Raymond Mercuri. A resident of the North End of Boston for many years, she has resided in Winthrop for over 30 years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a salesperson for many years at Montilio’s Bakery.
She was the devoted wife of the late Luigi DiFinizio and the loving mother of Rosaria Venuti of Revere; the dear sister of the late Nicholas, Gene, Louie, Michael, Carmen, Danny Mercuri, Teresa Sousa and Antonetta DiGiovanni; the loving aunt of Patty Quiroga of Marblehead and Alice Gassiraro of Revere. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Perry Palladino, Jr.
Of Beverly, formerly of Winthrop
Perry P. Palladino, Jr. of Millbrook Road., Beverly, formerly of Winthrop, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers on March 4 after several years of declining health. He was 54 years old. Born in Winthrop, the beloved son of Perry P. Palladino, Sr. and the late Alice (Kramich), he was a longtime resident of Winthrop and moved to Beverly in 1999 to live at the May Institute. He worked for several years as a maintenance worker for Petco.
He was beloved brother of Patricia Palladino, Rita Gioioso, Sal Riggio, Doreen O’Gorman and her husband, John and the late James Palladino and is also survived by three nephews. He is greatly missed by his roommates at Millbrook Road., Beverly– Danny, Paul and Kevin and by all the May Institute Staff.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation on Friday, March 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated the same day at St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 11:30 AM. Robert C. “Bob†Goetz of Winthrop passed away at home on March 3. He was 71 years old.
Bobby served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1965. He was a member of the Cottage Park Yacht Club in Winthrop. Prior to his retirement, he was the manager of Jeveli’s Restaurant in East Boston.
He was the beloved husband of Annette (Viola) Goetz. Born in Winthrop, the son of the late Carl F., Sr. and Marjorie B. (Hirst) Goetz, he was the devoted father of Rachalle L. Cuoco of Stuart, FL, and Chad E. Goetz and his wife, Sandra of Salem, NH; adored grandfather of Cody, Josephine, Patrick, Kimberley, Matthew, Adam, and Lyndsay and the dear brother of the late Carl F. Goetz, Jr. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Maurice W Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Friday, March 7 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Cremation to follow will be private. Robert J. “Bob†Kearns of Winthrop passed away on March 1. He was 86 years old.
Robert served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was a life member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks #1078. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Texaco Co. as a warehouse administrator.
The beloved husband of the late Marie L. (DiBiase) Kearns, he was born in Arlington, the son of the late Daniel and Mary A. (Galvin) Kearns. He was the devoted father of Daniel J. Kearns and his wife, Deborah and J. Kevin Kearns, all of Winthrop, Kathleen M. D’Ambrosio and her husband, Thomas of Charlestown, Teresa A. Holland and her husband, David of Rutland, MA, and Robert J. Kearns of Nashua, NH; adored grandfather of Tami Rich, Joseph Kearns, Michael and Mark Holland, and Emily and Amy Kearns; cherished great-grandfather of Michael, Jason and Jonathan Rich; dear brother of the late William D. and John J. Kearns.
