Police Officers get their due – Recognition for Sanborn, Heighton, Vitale well deserved

There was a quite a turnout of Winthrop police officers Monday night for a celebration at the Senior Center recognizing 35 years of volunteer service to the town by Auxiliary Police Chief Robert Sanborn and Deputy Chief Clark Heighton and 38 years of dedicated service by Winthrop Police Officer Ronald Vitale.

Police Chief Terence Delehanty told the large crowd about the dedication and loyalty of these men in their positions and all received warm applause from the large crowd in attendance.

What was most noticeable was the pride that both Chief Sanborn and Deputy Chief Heighton held in wearing the Auxiliary Police uniform and the great respect they had for the Winthrop Police Department. Their families were proud of them, as are all of our townspeople, and rightfully so.
