Margaret Patricia “Pat” (Faherty) Connors of Winthrop, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, shortly after celebrating her milestone 80th birthday.

Born in Boston on July 29,1946 to John and Anne Faherty, Pat grew up in Brighton and graduated from St. Columbkille Partnership School. She began her career as a dental assistant, working for Dr. Flaherty in Brighton until his retirement.

Pat met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Connors of Winthrop in 1967. They married on October 4,1975 and settled in Winthrop to raise their family. Pat was an incredibly devoted mother, deeply embedded in her children’s lives as a room mother, Girl Scout leader, and active PTA member. She could always be found shuttling them to sports practices and dance classes. She volunteered at many fundraisers and especially enjoyed participating at bake sales. Her homemade peanut butter balls would sell out before hitting the display. Her constant, welcoming presence at school naturally turned into a career and she began as an aide at the N. E. Willis School and spent 26 years serving the Winthrop Public School System, ultimately retiring from the payroll department in 2014. During their retirement, Pat and Bob traveled to England, Ireland and Scotland and shared unforgettable journeys on cruises to the scenic landscapes of Nova Scotia and Alaska.

Pat brought joy and laughter wherever she went. She loved music, dancing, and attending musicals. If a Broadway tune was playing, she could name the show. Pat was also a member of the Ladies Bowling League at the Cottage Park Yacht Club, meeting every Tuesday, and sometimes even bowling! Her profound love for reading was evident in her dedicated membership in many local book clubs. She was also a talented seamstress and she took great joy in crafting elaborate Halloween costumes. Pat found her greatest joy in gathering loved ones to her home for holidays and special occasions and welcoming her children’s friends to her dinner table.

Pat will be lovingly remembered for her incredible patience, love, wonderful sense of humor and quick wit that kept everyone on their toes.

Pat leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and family. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bob Connors; her sister, Anne “Joy” McNeil; her daughters, Robin McElligott and her husband, Shawn and Megan Connors; and her son, Kevin Connors and his wife, Valerie. She was the incredibly proud grandmother to Cora, Cullen, Hunter, Noah, Liam and Michaela and a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Pat was reunited in heaven with those who passed before her, including her parents, John and Anne Faherty; her brother, John “Jack” Faherty; and her beloved infant son, Scott Robert Connors.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 4 to 7 p,m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church (St. Michael’s Parish) 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with the interment in Winthrop Cemetery.
