Winthrop Town Manager Tony Marino provided an update on several ongoing infrastructure projects in the town in his report to the town council this week.
“The Revere Street TIP is wrapping up, and the contractor is working on punch list items,” Marino stated. “We thank everyone for their patience with this project and are happy to move forward with revamped Revere Street, including new utility work and sidewalks.”
The town manager also provided an update on the largest ongoing project in town, the construction of a new fire station on Pauline Street.
“The Fire Station stormwater pipe work should be wrapped up this week, and the retaining wall blocks will also be delivered,” Marino stated. “Once this work is complete, the General Contractor, G&R Construction, will begin the site and foundation work in early October.”
Work on the riprap wall that is being proposed to stop the erosion at 242 – 244 Grandview Avenue will begin later this week, and Marino said town officials anticipate it taking approximately two weeks to complete.
There is also ongoing work at Yirrell Beach.
“The coastal berm installation will continue starting this week at Yirrell Beach,” Marino said. “We met with residents on September 10 and identified the five beach access ramps we will install after the coastal berm is installed.”
