WINTHROP FERRY IN WATER

The Winthrop Ferry “Valkyrie” has began it’s season.

At this time, the ferry will be arriving at the Seaport District and Moakley Court House. The town is still working out the logistics in Quincy, East Boston and Downtown Boston.

The temporary schedule is in place.

 

WINTHROP LODGE OF ELKS HOSTING A $10K FUNDRAISER DINNER

On May 6, the Elks will be hosting a $10,000 raffle at the Lodge starting at 8 p.m. The Lodge of Elks contributes over $30,000 in scholarships annually, and runs an annual children’s Christmas party. The Lodge also helps with the drug awareness program and organizers the Elks Hoop Contest for middle school students, as well as an essay contest to promote Americanism. The Winthrop Lodge of Elks is asking for your support.

Tickets are $100, which includes dinner.

Prizes for the raffle, 1st $7,500 – 2nd $2,000 – 3rd $500. All proceeds go to the Winthrop Elks and Scholarship Funds. The evening starts at 8pm and will include music by Just Kill Me Rico, dancing, raffles and a 50/50. Second Chance prizes for ticket holders only- a signed New England Patriots Jersey #87 Rob Gronkowski, Red Sox, Foxwoods, and more!!!

 

STREET LISTING BOOKS AVAILABLE AT THE TOWN CLERK’S OFFICE

The Town of Winthrop Street Listing Books for 2016 are now on sale for only $10 in the Town Clerk’s Office.

 

RABIES CLINIC

The Town of Winthrop will conduct its annual Rabies Clinic on Saturday, May 13 from 9– 11 am at 217 Winthrop St. REAR LOT (Behind Methodist Church) $10 per animal (Cats & Dogs) Applications for Dog License Available. Questions? Call the Health Department at (617) 846-1740

 

TALL SHIPS PARADE OF SAIL EVENT SATURDAY, JUNE 17

Opportunity to have a booth on Yirrell Beach during the Parade of Sail. Interested vendors must contact Joseph Domelowicz in the Town Manager’s office by Thursday, May 11 at 5 p.m. to secure a location at Yirrell Beach to sell food, soft drinks and other merchandise. Town will provide health inspection for food vendors free of charge. Vendor spaces will be limited to 20-24 and will be filled on a first come, first served basis, with a focus on vendors providing amenities to our visitors. Vendors are responsible for providing their own tables and tents and must provide at least 2 trash cans to remove their trash. Help Winthrop celebrate the return of the Tall Ships to Boston Harbor in style.
