BE VIGILANT AGAINST MOSQUITOES
Town wide spraying was conducted last week after receiving notice that a positive sample was found with the West Nile Virus. Some prevention tips are listed below to help residents protect themselves.
- The best way to prevent mosquito bites is by keeping them away. Use mosquito repellant containing 25 to 35 percent DEET when you are outside.
- Remove all stagnant water, including unused flower pots, wading pools, garbage cans, tires, and birdbaths as these sites become primary breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
- Limit exposure to the outdoors after dusk when mosquitos are most active. Wear long pants, long sleeve shirts and socks to prevent bites when outside at night.
