Business Highlight: MSA Mortgage

During the 20 years that MSA Mortgage has been in business, they’ve helped Winthrop home buyers navigate their way through the mortgage process. Nominated as Winthrop’s top lender for purchase loans several years in a row, the company is humbled to receive recognition for such an honorable role.

“We recognize that purchasing a home is the biggest investment of most people’s lives and we are humbled and honored that this community continues to put their trust in us year after year,” said MSA President, Bob Deeb. “A referral is the best compliment anyone can give and our business has always been based on that.”

Since the start of the pandemic, Deeb has witnessed firsthand how the home-buying community has adapted and worked together to provide seamless transactions for buyers.

“We have the privilege of working with some of the best realtors in the business. They’ve worked tirelessly to make our borrowers feel comfortable about buying and selling a home during the pandemic.  They really didn’t have a lot of time to react but they found ways to adapt and get deals done, quickly learning how to sell homes while practicing social distancing and keeping everyone safe.”

According to Deeb, everyone in the industry is going above and beyond, making home buying easier than expected in today’s world.

“It’s not just our realtor friends that are doing a wonderful job, it’s also the attorneys, title agents, appraisers and everyone in the industry that have come together. There were certainly hiccups and delays in the beginning but we’ve all adjusted, deals are getting done and clients are happy.”

to the pandemic, the guidelines have shifted to offer more flexibility for home appraisals and now appraisers can get the job done by surveying the exterior of the home and by reviewing photos remotely. That paired with the fact that interest rates are at a new all-time low, has bolstered business for MSA.

“It’s so important that people know there are options whether it be to reduce their term from a 30-year to a 15-year, reduce their monthly payment or cash-out to do repairs around the house. We’ve refinanced hundreds of customers in the last few months with our no closing cost option and they’re now appreciating a significant monthly savings.”

The team at MSA appreciates the support they’ve received from the Winthrop community over the years, which is why they make it a priority to give back.

“Investing in our community is a great way to give back to those who have helped support our business. MSA cares deeply about the residents and organizations that make this town so special.”

Deeb has been on the board of the Viking Pride Foundation since its inception in 2004. Since then, MSA mortgage has added to their community-giving resume, donating backpacks to the Gorman Fort Banks School, donating trees to the Belle Isle bridge, helping Mi-Amore feed needy families at Christmas time, donating $5,000 to each Winthrop park, and supporting the following youth organizations: hockey, football, cheer and little league.
