Jenny Fucillo claimed yet another victory and teammates Christina Russo and Jordan Griffiths also forwarded first place efforts for the Winthrop High girls track team in their meet last week against Saugus.
Fucillo, the premier hurdler in the Northeastern Conference, sped to victory in the 55 meter hurdles in a time of 9.2 seconds.
Russo outsprinted all competitors in the 50 meter dash in 7.7 and Griffiths took first in the mile in 5:59.2.
Lady Vikings who came through with second place efforts, which earned three points for Winthrop, were: Lauren MacMullen with a throw of 30-7.5 in the shotput; Katie Cochrane in the hurdles in 10.1; Cortney Nolan in the dash in 7.9; Nicole O’Brien in the 1000 in 3:46; and Kaitlyn Hersey in the two mile in 13:38.9.
Julia Wallace placed third in two events to earn points in the high jump with a leap of 4-6 and in the two mile with a run of 15:39. Other third place finishers for Winthrop were Daniella Daniels with a toss of 25-4.5 in the shotput; Jennifer Gobiel in the 600 in 54.0; and Gina Giuliano in the 600 in 2:01.1.
