James Evans and Ryan Hegarty sped to victories for the Winthrop High boys indoor track team in its recent meet against Saugus. Evans sprinted past all competitors in the 50 meter dash in a time of 6.8 seconds. Hegarty outraced the field in the 55 meter hurdles in 8.9.
Viking teammates Tyler Norris and Hemser garnered second place finishes, Norris in the 300 in 41.0 and Hemser in the 600 in 1:44.3.
Evans also copped a third place with a high jump of 4-10 and Paul Correle grabbed a third in the shotput with a toss of 32-11.25.
