The Winthrop Skating Association, a locally based nonprofit skating school for young girls from Winthrop and the surrounding area, will present its annual skating recital, A Magical Moment, on April 4 and 5 at Larsen Rink in Winthrop.
“We’ve actually got about 58 girls, ages 4 to 15, performing in the show and they’ll be broken into age groups,†explained WSA Board member Jeanine Ayers. “There are two performances of the show, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, and a matinee from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 5.â€
Tickets may be purchased at the door for $8 each. Children 5 and under are admitted free of charge. Proceeds from the show help offset costs for ice time during the year and recital material, which includes all decorations, ticket printing, beverages and snacks, show programs and achievement awards for show participants.
WSA instructors are Lois Ambrose, Danielle Tallent, Darlene Giardina, and Amy Vecchio.
The Winthrop Skating Association is over 30 years old. Officers of the WSA include: President Pamela Dellorusso, Vice President Denise Delehanty, Treasurer Pam McSwiney, Secretary Joanie Singarella, and board members Dena Alioto and Jeanine Ayers.
