Leon Schiff of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, passed away on June 21, 2026 at the age of 101.
The beloved husband of the late Arlene (Futterman) Schiff, he was the father of Jeffrey Schiff of Winthrop, Nancy Schiff of West Palm Beach, and Lisa Compton of Winthrop; grandfather of Patricia Donaldson of Salem; brother of the late Hennach, Nathan, Frank, Henry, Maurice, Celia Mann, Phyllis Sax and Ella Weiner and the uncle, granduncle, and great-granduncle of over 50 nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
He was the former owner of Compton Drug, Sanford Pharmacy and Fairfield Pharmacy. Past President of Congregation Tifereth Abraham. World War II Merchant Marine radio officer, 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner.
A graveside service was held at Chevra Mishnias Cemetery, 19 Washington St., Woburn on Wednesday, June 24. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a brain health charity of your choice.
