Winthrop’s public health department is looking for input on its Community Health Needs Assessment survey.
A link to the survey is available on the town’s website at winthropma.gov/CivicAlerts.
The health department is particularly looking for input from people who live or work in Winthrop who experience issues related to housing affordability, safety, or quality; have concerns about economic opportunities available such as job training, education, or employment barriers; or have someone close to them having difficulty accessing or affording mental health services.
If anyone has a friend, neighbor, or family member who is visually impaired and needs assistance completing the survey, they can contact the health department at (617) 539-5837.
At a town council meeting earlier in April, public health director Meredith Hurley said the survey helps identify the most important health needs within the community using both qualitative and quantitative data and is done about once every three years.
“It helps us identify gaps in services, access, and resources, and it helps support our grant applications, our program planning, and our policy development,” said Hurley. “We really want to make sure we give all residents a voice in helping to shape our health priorities.”
