James Boland Sr.

U.S. Postal Service Retiree

James J. Boland Sr., 94, of Winthrop passed away peacefully at home on April 14.

The beloved husband of the late Ann M. (Vasconsellos) Boland, he was born in East Boston, the cherished son of the late John and Celia (McDonald) Boland.

James was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, serving from 1944-1946. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the D.A.V.-East Boston Post 77 and the U.S. Civil Service Commission.

James was the devoted father of James J. Boland Jr. and his wife, Pauline of Peabody, Donald R. Boland of Summerfield, FL, and Kathleen A. Bianco and her husband, Stephen of Peabody. He was the adored grandfather of Deanna M. Coffey, James J. Boland III, Kimberly A. Ciampa, Audrey M. and Stephen A. Bianco, the loving great-grandfather of Stephen Coffey; the dear brother of Barbara Doren of Millis and the late John, Thomas and Steve Boland, Mary Blake and Margaret Boland. James is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105 or to the ASPCA Gift Processing Center, PO Box 96929, Washington DC. 20077-7127.

John Boudrow

Member of Winthrop Elks Where He Was Known as “The Captain”

John K. Boudrow, 58, of Winthrop passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on April 7. Born in Winthrop and a lifelong Winthrop resident, he was the beloved son of Lorraine (McKinnon) and the late John A. Boudrow.

He was employed as a master carpenter for many years. He was also a member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks. He had a love of the ocean and boating and was known as the “Captain” at the Elks.

He was the loving father of Amanda Boudrow of Winthrop, Dylan Boudrow of New Hampshire and Andrew Boudrow of Lynn; the dear brother of Michael Boudrow of Vermont, James Boudrow and his wife, Becky of Corinth, Vermont, Timothy Boudrow and his late wife Aimee of Winthrop and Lori Rouleau and her husband, Paul of Saco, Maine and the cherished grandfather of Myles and Jaxon.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
