Roger Petruccelli

Retired Systems Analyst; Boston College Double Eagle and member of Winthrop Elks

Roger N. Petruccelli of River Road, Winthrop passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on April 13. He was 77 years old. Born in Boston, the beloved son of the late Rose (Faiella) and Anthony Petruccelli, he resided in East Boston before moving to Winthrop in 1975. He was very proud to be a “Double Eagle” a graduate of both Boston College High School and Boston College where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in arts and economics. He went on to work as a systems analyst working with computers. He was a member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks. He also loved college and pro basketball and he enjoyed music, dancing and Fox News.

He was the devoted husband of Mirella (Cellurale) and the loving father of David Petruccelli, Carla Petruccelli-Fay and her late husband, Jimmy and Paul Petruccelli, all of Winthrop; dear brother of Richard Petruccelli of East Boston; cherished grandfather of David, Jr. and Kayla. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

The funeral was conducted from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on April 22, followed by a Funeral Mass in John the Evangelist Church. Rev. Richard Uftring celebrated the mass and offered prayers at the interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.  Memorial donations may be made to the Center for Neurotechnology and Neurorecovery 175 Cambridge St., Suite 300, Boston, MA 02114.

Amie Maddalone

M.W.R.A. IT Manager

Amie Maddalone of Almont St., Winthrop passed away at home on April 20. She was 43 years old.

Born in Boston, the beloved daughter of Terri Furlong (Turner) and Robert Leonard, she was a lifelong resident of Winthrop and a 1993 graduate of Winthrop High School. She went on to graduate from Salem State College and continued her education eventually earning her M.B.A. For the past 26 years she was employed as an IT manager for the M.W.R.A.. 

She was the devoted wife of Joel Maddalone, the loving mother of Emily and Matthew Maddalone and the dear sister of Michael Furlong and Tracy Leonard, both of Winthrop and the cherished granddaughter of the late Marie Turner. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was the loving sister-in-law of Kristen and Dave Mariano and Jason Maddalone and daughter-in-law of the late Janice Maddalone. 

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop today, Thursday, April 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, April 26 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with interment in Winthrop Cemetery.
