Women’s History Performance

In honor of Women’s History Month the Delvena Theatre company presents “All the Present Women” on Tuesday, March 14 at 6 p.m. at the Winthrop Public Library, Metcalfe Square.

Winthrop Youth Art Show

Winthrop Youth Art Show K-12 will be held Saturday, March 11 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the EB Newton School and Cultural Center through March 25 noon to 2 p.m. March 23 from 3:30-7:30 p.m.

Chamber wants to hear from you

The Winthrop Chamber of Commerce wants to hear from Metcalfe Square district business owners on March 23 from Noon to 1 p.m. at the First Church of Winthrop, 217 Winthrop St. RSVP to Wendy at 617-846-9898.

Second Annual Arbor Day Celebration



Come enjoy this swing into spring with creative kids’ activities in the Deane Winthrop yard barn on Saturday, April 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be plenty of yummy cherry pie, coffee and plenty of rakes and gloves for sprucing up our lovely grounds. Winthrop Improvement and Historical Assocation (WIHA) welcomes any small perennials you might have for transplanting from your yard to the Deane Winthrop yard.

Buck a Bag Sale

The Thrift Shop at the First Church of Winthrop, 217 Winthrop St. will have a sale of items on March 9,11, 23, 25  from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bags will be provided.

WHS Little League Clinic

The Winthrop High School Baseball team will be holding its annual baseball clinic through March 10 from 4-5:45 p.m. in the Winthrop High School Gym for players age 9-12.  Applications are available in the High School office. Space is limited

Uplift yourself with Laughter

The fourth annual “Uplift Yourself with Laughter” fundraising event will be held on Saturday, April 22 at the Beachmont VFW in Revere, doors open at 6:30 p.m. Join you friends and colleagues to benefit the Winthrop-based non-profit organization whose mission it is to connect the Boston and North Shore area with community resources. The second annual “Those Who Can” award will be given to Deborah Kneeland Keegan, executive director of For Kids Only. For more information and tickets call 617-462-5719.
