Winthrop Cares are having a BBQ/Pizza party to give support to the families who lost their homes from a fire in June. The date is Sunday September 27th at Pleasant Park Yacht from 1pm-4pm. There will be the Patriots game will be on in both bars and music from DJ Jimbo who will get you up dancing and singing. Pizza of all types will be served along with a full BBQ cooked by our local chefs. We even have deserts of all kinds from Entenmann's bakery. Tickets are only twenty dollars and can be purchased at the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce Monday – Friday from 10am – 2pm. Tickets can also be purchased at the P.P.Y.C. from noon to 7pm everyday which you can enjoy the club as a member for the day!
The question of why did we wait until September to hold this function? Simply to give the families time to find a place to live, children to go back to school and to gain some normalcy to their lives!
Winthrop Cares would like to thank the folks who already bought tickets, made donations via "Go Fund Me" or now through Venmo. There were families who did not benefit from "GO Fund Me" which is why we are still collecting donations. Winthrop might be a small town but we have a big heart especially showing our residents in need that we are there for them!
