Letter to the Editor

Thank you

Dear Editor:

I’d like to offer a big «Thank You» to the Winthrop Police Department for their response last night(11-5) to an attempted break-in at Honan Sign Company. It turned out to be a false alarm, but I want to thank the four officers that showed up for their concern and their professionalism. I know, that’s their job, but they were concerned not only contents of Honan Sign Company, but also my own safety, when they asked me to move away from the building until they had it secured.

How many times have we read recently where Police Officers show up for a routine call and have it turn into a gun battle. It›s too easy to criticize them when you see them sitting in their car while on detail, but these same officers are willing to put their lives on the line to protect you and your property.

Thank You Winthrop Police Department!

Richard and Matthew Honan
