Facella Scholarships

The Winthrop High School Class of 2016 — the last one to complete their academic careers before the new middle/high school opens — participated in a very special commencement ceremony highlighted by the presentation of scholarships to deserving students. Eighteen graduates received Facella Scholarships totaling close to $250,000, a tremendously generous contribution from the Facella Family in memory of the late Paul and Norma Facella who donated $6.5 million overall toward the scholarship fund.

We thank the Facella family for helping Winthrop graduates pursue their dreams. With the rising cost of college tuition, we know how very helpful these scholarships will be to the students and their families.
