Trees for the Troops : Honan, Leavy Honor Our Military

We’d run out of space if we had to enumerate all of the noble deeds that Winthrop business owner Richard Honan has performed to honor and recognize the brave Winthrop men and women who have served in our armed forces. Honan sends our soldiers care packages and mementos of our town each month to salute and recognize their efforts serving and protecting our great nation.

At Tuesday morning’s Chamber breakfast at the Winthrop Elks, Honan and Paul Leavy, owner of Ace Hardware, announced a (Christmas) Trees for the Troops program that has been initiated to help make our servicemen’s holidays brighter and bring a smile to their faces.

For a $25 donation, Honan will send a fully decorated tree to the servicemen. Knowing Richard, it will be done with the highest degree of care and thought. The beautifully designed “Trees for the Troops” sign from the Richard Honan Sign Company was a sign (pun intended) of how he and Paul Leavy will administer and carry out this great program for our men and women overseas.

We say “Thank You, Richard Honan” for another outstanding project.
