We join the college hockey community in congratulating former Northeastern University women’s hockey coach Don Mac- Leod of Winthrop on his induction into the Women’s Beanpot Hall of Fame.
MacLeod was a leading advocate for women’s hockey during his tenure at Northeastern that began in the early 1980s. His pioneering efforts helped open the door for the thousands of young women who today have the opportunity to compete in women’s hockey at the collegiate level.
MacLeod is one of the unsung heroes in the sport of women’s hockey and we feel his induction into the Beanpot Hall should be the first of many recognitions, with the Northeastern and National halls of fame sure to follow.
Congratulations coach, and we know we join with all of the women currently playing college hockey today in thanking you for your vision and dedication.
